Isolated to scattered thunderstorms can be expected across southeastern Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks for the extended Memorial Day weekend. The best potential will be during the early morning hours, and then again during the heat of the afternoon. Not all locations will experience a storm, but if your location does, keep in mind the importance of lightning safety! Temperatures throughout the weekend will be quite comfortable, with highs in the upper 70s and low 80s.

Multiple clusters of showers and thunderstorms are expected to roll through the region during the Memorial Day weekend. With rather brisk southerly winds, high temperatures will range from the middle 70s to the lower 80s.

Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop across the Plains Today. These storms will move into southeastern Kansas and southwestern Missouri and Central Missouri late this afternoon into tonight. The potential for severe thunderstorms along with heavy rainfall and flooding is expected to develop across the entire region including southeastern Kansas and the Missouri Ozarks on Monday and persist into Tuesday. All modes of severe weather will be possible including large hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes. Stay tuned to the latest weather information regarding this potential of severe weather.
